The Irwin Borough Police Department is a full-service police department operating on a 24/7 basis located inside the Irwin Borough building at 424 Main Street in Irwin Borough, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. The Department consists of a Chief of Police and nine officers . The police department provides service to the boroughs of Irwin and North Irwin.
It should be noted that the Irwin Post office delivers mail to several municipalities including those serviced by the North Huntingdon Township Police Department, the Manor Borough Police Department, and the Pennsylvania State Police, therefore, an Irwin postal (mailing) address does not necessarily mean that the Irwin Borough Police Department provides service at that location.
We are dispatched by the Westmoreland County 911 Center. An officer may not always be present at the police station, but can be reached either by calling the police station directly or calling the Westmoreland County 911 Center.
Should you need to speak to an officer
- You can call the police station directly. If an officer is available he/she will answer the phone. If not, you have the option of leaving a voice mail message. Officers who are on-duty regularly check the voice mail messages and your call will be returned.
- If you have an emergency you can dial 911. The operator at the 911 center will contact an officer on-duty via the police radio system.
- If you need to speak to an officer immediately or need immediate service you may dial 911 or call the non-emergency number for the 911 center and personnel from the 911 center will contact an officer on-duty via the police radio system and have him/her contact you.
